CPT South Australia offers in-situ soil testing services in South Australia and further afield.
The Managing Director and CPT Operator, Leon Dickinson, holds a Bachelors of Applied Science (Geology) and Graduate Diploma of Computing.
Well Construction Permits are required in South Australia for boreholes, geotechnical investigations and in-situ testing where the target depth is greater than 15m below ground level and/or the water table will be intercepted (Refer to Landscape South Australia Act 2019 or alternatively speak to the State Drilling Inspector: (08) 7133 7302 )
Leon holds a National Class 2 Well Drillers Licence with endorsements for auger, rotary air, mud and non-drilling operations which meets the legal requirements for Well Permits and in-situ testing in South Australia.
We operate a Geomil CPT system and use their third generation digital 10cm2 compression and subtraction cones (CPTu) with qc (tip resistance) to 100 MPa, fs (sleeve friction) 2-6 MPa, u2 (pore pressure) to 5 MPa and inclination to 20°.
Our digital cones are well suited for working in electrically noisy environments eg adjacent to high voltage transmission lines, due to the digital signal processing in the cone, the use of RS485 twisted pair wires and half-duplex communication between the cone and receiving computer.
We perform;
CPT tests according to AS1289.6.5.1 – 1999. “Soil strength and consolidation tests – Determination of the static cone penetration resistance of a soil – Field test using a mechanical and electrical cone or friction-cone penetrometer” and with reference to ISO 22476-1:2012 “Geotechnical investigation and testing – Field testing Part 1: Electrical cone piezocone penetration test".
Sounding data is stored in Geroc CORE-GS software and plots are generated from their CPT Add-in.
Our deliverable for each CPT sounding are;
DMT tests according to ISO 22476-11 "Geotechnical investigation and testing - Field testing - Part 11: Flat dilatometer test".
S-Wave and P-Wave True Interval Seismic tests according to ASTM D7400/D7400M-19 “Standard Test Methods for Downhole Seismic Testing”.
